Bridging Vietnam to Global Luxury: An Inspiring Journey of a Beauty Industry Leader

From the bustling streets of Vietnam to the gleaming corridors of international luxury brands, the story of RMIT alumna Nghiem Ngoc Van Anh is one of passion, purpose, and pushing boundaries. As the General Manager of Fragrance and Cosmetics at LUXASIA, Van Anh, a Bachelor of Commerce graduate in 2007, is not just climbing the corporate ladder – she is redefining what Vietnamese leadership means in the global luxury market.

Van Anh shines as she receives the coveted title of Best Beauty Distributor for LUXASIA awarded by the esteemed LUXUO group.

Beauty has always been more than skin deep for me,” reflects Van Anh. “It is about crafting experiences that empower people and connect them to something extraordinary.” This belief has steered her impressive career path through renowned companies like L’Oreal, The Estée Lauder Companies, and Zalora Group.

What sets Van Anh apart is her role as a cultural bridge-builder. In a world where luxury brands often struggle to authentically connect with local markets, she brings a unique touch. “Understanding both the high standards of international luxury and the hearts of Vietnamese consumers is not just a skill – it’s an art,” she explains. “Every day, I strive to ensure that global brands resonate with local dreams while honoring their esteemed traditions.”

“I aspire to be the woman who wakes up and loves what she does for a living everyday. Travels often. Spiritually secured and financially stable.” – Van Anh’s favorite quote to live by.

Her education at RMIT played a pivotal role in shaping this viewpoint. “The multicultural environment at RMIT not only shaped my business principles but also showed me how to navigate different worlds,” she shares. This foundation has been invaluable in her current position at LUXASIA, where she leads initiatives that have transformed how Vietnamese consumers experience luxury beauty.

For Van Anh, success holds a deeply personal meaning: ” I aspire to be the woman who wakes up and loves what she does for a living everyday. Travels often. Spiritually secured and financially stable.” This genuine approach to leadership has earned her admiration across the industry, inspiring a new wave of professionals.

“Beauty has always been more than skin deep for me,” reflects Van Anh. “It is about crafting experiences that empower people and connect them to something extraordinary.”

To those following in her footsteps, Van Anh imparts three pieces of hard-earned wisdom:

  1. Find your fire –  my passion for beauty and luxury energizes me to bridge markets and cultures every day.”
  2. Adopt an entrepreneurial mindset in all you do – Viewing your role as if you were the owner helps you spot opportunities others might miss.”
  3. Build real connections –  In luxury, authenticity is not just about products, it is about the experience and relationships you nurture across cultures and markets.”

Today, Van Anh stands as a beacon among the new wave of Vietnamese business leaders who take pride in their heritage while excelling on the global platform. She is proof that with determination, cultural intelligence, and the right education, Vietnamese talent can flourish in the international luxury arena.

“Success is not just about individual accomplishments,” she concludes. “It is about opening pathways for others and demonstrating that Vietnamese professionals can thrive in any industry, anywhere in the world.”

Through her work, Van Anh continues to forge connections between Vietnamese consumers and the world’s most prestigious brands, proving that excellence in luxury knows no boundaries.
