An RMIT alumna represents Vietnam at global forum for young leaders

Do Thu Trang, a graduate of Bachelor of Commerce in 2011, had the pleasure to represent Vietnam by being a flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony of One Young World Summit 2019 in London.

One Young World Summit, the global forum for young leader, gathers the brightest talents worldwide, and share innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. They are counselled by influential business and political leaders such as Justin Trudeau, Paul Polman, and many more global luminaries. “No youth led movement outside of the Olympic Games represents as many nationalities as the One Young World Summit. As a flagbearer, I was joining in celebrating this event by representing Vietnam, and I am honored to be part of it.” she said.

This achievement does not come out of thin air but her great effort, excellent leadership skills as well as international background. Born in Russia, completed Bachelor degree at RMIT Vietnam with a semester of exchange in Australia, following by Master degree in Netherlands, Trang possesses uniquely valuable skillsets and mindset. They were well applied into her work within 4 years of working at AkzoNobel, got her promoted smoothly among varied roles at different functions. This diversity of opportunity has given her a chance to learn and develop personally and professionally while strengthen her network across the organization.

While being excellent at her job, Trang was also enthusiastically involved as Vice Chair of Your AkzoNobel (YAN), the company-wide organization for young professionals within AkzoNobel, aims to connect young professionals and encourage them to develop and discover the world. As a result of her hard work and commitment, she was selected to be One Young World Ambassador and Returning Ambassador and Partner Executive in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
