Them Bo Sat (Craving Reptiles) is a channel where I’ve built a community of over 1.5 million followers across TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. Through my content, I don’t just aim to entertain—I want to raise awareness about animal protection, especially reptiles, and the importance of preserving their habitats and our planet’s biodiversity.

Just start. Don’t worry if your voice isn’t perfect, or your filming is shaky. Start anyway. The beginning will always be hard—but that’s better than living with the regret of never having tried.

I’ve loved reptiles—especially snakes, centipedes, and insects—since I was a child. Reptiles and snakes, in particular, are creatures that have long been feared and hated by humans. From the very moment I began nurturing my passion for these cold-blooded animals, I was met with judgment and discrimination.

Despite that, I held on. I was determined to turn this passion into something meaningful and serious. Over the past 18 years of pursuing this path, I went from being someone who couldn’t speak English to someone who now reads academic papers on reptiles fluently. I’ve traveled to many places and learned from reptile keepers around the world. I’ve visited some of the biggest zoos and even went into debt to care for my collection of snakes.

Eventually, I launched Them Bo Sat (Craving Reptiles). After over a decade of dedication, the knowledge I gained began to bear fruit. I used everything I had—knowledge, patience, storytelling—to slowly shift people’s perceptions about these misunderstood creatures. And in many ways, I believe I’ve succeeded.

Today, I’m proud to be one of Vietnam’s leading content creators in the field of reptiles and insects, with over 1.5 million followers across major platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook. But beyond the numbers, what truly matters is this: I’ve helped change the public perception—not just about the reptile-keeping hobby—but about the animals themselves.

Supported by young people, many of whom now view these creatures with more empathy, I’ve helped change perceptions. Many of them used to fear or hate reptiles simply because they didn’t understand them. There was no accessible media that portrayed them accurately or compassionately—until now. I’ve also helped connect Vietnam’s reptile community with international communities from China, the U.S., and Singapore. One of our proudest milestones was the successful hosting of Thèm Kiến—a large-scale ant and insect exhibition on July 30, 2023, which attracted over 500 attendees and sold out in just one day. Through these events, I’ve seen people grow to genuinely admire the animals we once misunderstood.

One of my proudest moments was when the Australian Reptile Park accepted our filming proposal and sent us a personal invitation to shoot and interact with their animals, including a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a koala. At that moment, I realized I had made it. I had come a long way, and all the struggles had brought me here. I was truly living my dream.
