Working at the 23-year-old IMC agency, Le Bros, we proudly organize our annual event, called “Vietnam Sales & Marketing Camp (VSMCamp)”—one of the largest marketing-focused annual events in Vietnam, which has been running for 8 years and counting. Each year, the event gathers almost 1,000 students and practitioners in the fields of sales and marketing for networking and participation in a 2-day program full of keynote speeches and panel discussions from at least 50 guest speakers. The topics of each event mainly revolve around the “hottest” knowledge, technology, trends, and issues in the field of sales & marketing.

Each year, the large number of participants at our event shows just how eager sales and marketing professionals, students, and enthusiasts are to stay current with new trends, tools, and issues in the field. In this fast-changing industry, those who don’t keep up risk falling behind. That’s why Le Bros chooses to take on the challenge of organising this complex event annually. It’s a chance for everyone, including us, to learn and connect in ways few other opportunities allow. As the Creative Lead, I focus on both how the event is communicated and how it's structured. A major part of my role is working with teams across our agency and our partners to define meaningful keynote and panel discussion topics.

This requires me to keep up to date with industry shifts to ensure the event stays relevant and valuable to the people who invest their time and money to attend. Of course, putting together a two-day event of this caliber is never simple. From managing participants and guest speakers to aligning with sponsors and co-organizers, the behind-the-scenes logistics are almost always nightmare-adjacent. It demands sharp coordination and mutual respect across all departments because a misstep can easily derail and complicate the whole process.

After eight years, we’ve learned that success depends less on perfection and more on clearly understanding and respecting each other’s roles. One of our biggest challenges came two years ago at VSMCamp. Setbacks hit us from every direction, and we were forced to rethink and rebuild much of what we’d planned. But like the saying goes, “In hardship, cleverness shines through.” With extra effort, teamwork, and even shared financial risk, we turned things around. That kind of resilience is something I find genuinely inspiring. And sometimes, we meet attendees who’ve flown in from across Vietnam or even other countries just to join us. In those moments, we realize that our kind of event is valuable, useful, and makes our efforts worthwhile.
