I have gained more than 10 years of experience at ACB Securities Ltd (ACBS), a securities firm underlying ACB Bank, one of the top 5 largest banks in Vietnam. My current title is Proprietary Investment Director, and I have been closely involved in managing equities with a capital of VND 9,000bn (~USD 300mn) and have brought an average ROI of over 30%/year since I moved to this Proprietary Investment Department in 2019.
As part of my daily routine, finding potential investments in Vietnam’s stock market through my technical skills with Bloomberg, Reuters, Capital IQ, Fiinpro X (the best data platform in Vietnam), and my networks, and writing profound investment proposals to send to the Head of Department, CEO, and Investment Committees are key and significant roles that contribute up to 30% of ACBS’s profit each year.
Besides, I have also worked on deals related to both equity and debt investments and have created investment procedures and new business lines related to the investment field. In this workplace, connecting colleagues from many departments, supporting ACBS's stock issuance advisory and IB deals, and managing a profound and professional team of five provided me not only with excellent leadership abilities but also with communication skills. I was very successful at training and motivating both junior and senior employees.
At the workplace, my listening as well as customer service skills helped me determine clients’ desires to ensure their satisfaction. I also had opportunities to work with the senior Board of Management and the Board of Directors to discuss development strategies, which broadened my knowledge as well as my experience in the business and finance areas.
