BenKon Energy Efficiency Solutions is a pioneering project specializing in AI-driven energy optimization for industrial and commercial sectors, offering smart analytics and automation to reduce energy waste. The technology integrates IoT sensors and machine learning to optimize power consumption, targeting markets in Vietnam, ASEAN, and beyond, including education, energy services, and smart buildings. As Strategic Advisor (18 months ago), I played an important key role in product & market strategy, market penetration, deal execution, and investor outreach.
Focus first on creating undeniable value in small pilots - successful case studies become the best sales tool.
As an Energy Transition expert, I am motivated by Vietnam’s urgent need for sustainable energy solutions in its rapidly industrializing economy. Many businesses face rising energy costs and lack smart tools to optimize their consumption. Through the BenKon project, I aim to bridge this gap by commercializing AI-powered Energy Efficiency solutions that deliver both economic savings (up to 20% reduction in energy costs) and environmental benefits to industrial and commercial customers.
As a Strategic Advisor, my contributions have resulted in:
- Market expansion: Entering 3 new sectors (education, hotels & serviced apartments, smart buildings) within 12 months.
- Business opportunities: Facilitating contract value growth of over $100,000 through 3 major clients.
- Investment attraction: Supporting seed capital mobilization by convincing investors with personal branding, financial community relations as well as participating in financial model building.
- Sustainable impact: Solutions are currently deployed for 3 clients with over 50 facilities, reducing energy waste by an average of 10-15% per year, thereby reducing carbon emissions accordingly as well as setting the stage for the client's ESG implementation roadmap.
- Market understanding and readiness: Not ready to implement and evaluate the value of Energy Transition. Along with skepticism about the ROI of AI in traditional industries.
- Price barriers: Investment costs prevent SMEs from implementing Energy Optimization solutions.
Our solutions:
- Develop pilot programs with measurable KPIs.
- Strategic partnerships with system manufacturers to reach customers with a total solution.
- Introduce Cooling as a Service (SaaS) model to solve customers' financial difficulties.
Leading BenKon’s first cross-industry breakthrough – a smart energy management system for one of Vietnam’s largest retail supermarket chains. This $100,000+ deal:
- Validated the adaptability of Benkon’s technology.
- Created a replicable model for the retail industry.
- Achieved 10% energy savings in the first months.
The success of the project fundamentally changed the way we position our solutions in the market.
