FADSEN was a campaign by Green Generation that raised awareness about the serious impacts of fast fashion on both people and the environment. Through a series of interactive online and offline activities, the campaign invited RMIT students, staff, and the wider community to explore the fast fashion life cycle and uncover the hidden effects behind everyday clothing choices. By stepping into the role of investigators, participants discovered key facts and were encouraged to reflect on their own habits, supporting more mindful, eco-friendly fashion consumption.

As someone whose family runs a fashion business, I became increasingly aware of the environmental and social costs tied to fast fashion. This realization pushed me to explore ways to make fashion more responsible. Through this campaign, I aimed to support others, especially young consumers, in recognizing their role in the fashion waste cycle and understanding that small, conscious choices can drive large-scale change. The problem I’m trying to solve is the widespread lack of awareness and urgency around sustainable fashion consumption.

One key challenge was how to make a serious topic engaging without losing its urgency. To address this, we used an interactive concept that allowed participants to explore the issues themselves, making the learning process more personal and active.

The RMIT network has shaped both my academic and professional growth. It provided a platform to test ideas, collaborate with diverse minds, and receive support from staff who value innovation. This environment encouraged me to think critically. It also connected me with people who share an interest in sustainability, which has led to new conversations and potential future projects. Being part of the RMIT community gave me the confidence to lead and the opportunity to make a real contribution.
