I was motivated by the urgent need to build a healthier, more sustainable startup ecosystem—one that values not just commercial success, but founder resilience and mental well-being. Too often, founders burn out in silence, and ecosystems fail to prioritize these human aspects. In my role as Singapore’s first holistic Startup Industry Team Lead at MentoringSG, I aim to embed mental health, inclusive leadership, and sustainable growth practices into national startup policy and youth entrepreneurship education. The goal is to transform the culture of venture-building so that future founders are equipped not just with skills, but also with the mindset and support structures needed to thrive.

My work has contributed to real policy and programmatic change. Collaborating with ACE.SG and other partners, I helped shape national-level initiatives focused on founder well-being. Through the Institute of Technical Education’s Business Essentials Through Action (Beta) program, I mentored tertiary students to improve “startup readiness,” aligning entrepreneurial projects with academic outcomes. I also delivered 50+ youth workshops at the Singapore FinTech Youth Chapter, building pitch and communication skills among student teams. On ADPList, I’ve mentored 300+ sessions globally, ranking in the top 1% for Product Leadership and AI/ML—demonstrating wide-reaching impact and trusted expertise across the ecosystem.

A major challenge was getting diverse stakeholders to prioritize founder resilience as a policy goal when short-term metrics often focus on funding or exit valuations. I overcame this through persistent relationship-building, demonstrating that founder well-being is critical to long-term economic outcomes.
