"Meet the Team" is a storytelling series I created to celebrate the people who keep RMIT Vietnam thriving every day. Although shared only within our staff community, I’m proud to showcase these incredible teams and their inspiring stories. Featured on RMIT 360 (our weekly staff newsletter) and Viva Engage (our internal social platform), the series has highlighted seven teams: Procurement, University Events, University Communications, Risk Management, Academic Registrar’s Group, Family Connect, and Office for Research & Innovation. With nearly 3,000 engagements, the series sparks meaningful conversations, fosters appreciation, and empowers staff to take pride in their contributions and achievements.

The Meet the Team series began with one simple belief: everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued for the work they do. In my role in internal communications, I have often seen how many remarkable teams at RMIT Vietnam work tirelessly behind the scenes, yet their efforts are not always visible or fully appreciated. I wanted to change that by creating a space where their stories could be told with warmth and authenticity, going beyond roles and responsibilities to celebrate the people, values, and passion that make their work meaningful.

Although this initiative exists only within RMIT’s internal channels, I feel proud to showcase these teams and their incredible contributions. So far, I have featured seven teams: Procurement, University Events, University Communications, Risk Management, Academic Registrar’s Group (ARG), Family Connect, and the Office for Research and Innovation. These stories are shared on RMIT 360 (our weekly staff newsletter) and Viva Engage (our internal social platform).

Together, the series has received nearly 3,000 engagements. These numbers show the interest from our community, but what touches me most are the comments, such as “I never knew they handled so much” or “Reading this makes me appreciate their work more.” Telling each team’s story has been both a privilege and a learning journey. It takes time to listen, understand, and find the right words that reflect not just achievements, but the heart of the people behind them. Yet every time a team says, “This story captured who we are,” or shares that they feel proud and recognized, I know the effort has made a difference.

My connection to RMIT has been central to this project. The support and trust I have received have allowed these stories to shine. Meet the Team is more than a communications series; it is a celebration of people, a bridge between teams, and a reminder that storytelling can empower us to feel proud, confident, and valued. There are so many more teams with stories worth telling, and I look forward to continuing this journey of recognition and connection.
