This special edition of Fresh Grad Corner: Career Insights opens up conversations around building unconventional career pathways beyond traditional 9-to-5, with sessions happening across both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

What does it mean to make unconventional choices in a shifting world? As 2026 redefines traditional roles and puts flexibility at the forefront of the job market, early-career professionals and graduates are navigating a new landscape. The question is: How do we start and from where? Exploring diverse pathways beyond the traditional 9-to-5 unlocks many opportunities, but also comes with its unique set of challenges.

This special edition of Fresh Grad Corner: Career Insights series opens up a fresh dialogue on these topics, featuring real stories and practical insights from professionals who have navigated unconventional paths, from freelancing, content creation to founding and building their own startups.

Luan Nguyen – Educator, Book Author, Content Creator, and Entrepreneur
Luan Nguyen is an independent education entrepreneur, book author, social media content creator and educator widely recognized for his prominent personal brand in the education and learning space. Transitioning from traditional academia, he has successfully built a thriving education initiative while cultivating a digital presence that resonates with over 500,000 followers across diverse social media channels.
Beyond content creation, Luan is the founder of Language for Life, an English language center specializing in practical communication, IELTS, and presentation skills with a mission to help learners go beyond textbook English so they can confidently apply it in their studies, careers, and everyday lives.

Barrett Le – Founder/CEO

Barrett Le is the founder of Bearplus, an independent, award-winning design studio based in Vietnam with a presence in Australia. Over the past decade, he has built the studio around web design, branding and digital products for international clients. Bearplus’s work has been recognised by Awwwards, FWA, CSSDesignAwards and Webby, among other accolades. At this event, Barrett will share his journey of building a studio from Vietnam, expanding overseas, working with clients around the world, and finding his own path as an industry practitioner and founder. He’s also happy to answer any questions about navigating an ever-changing job landscape.

Ha Tran – Freelancer

Ha is a professional English–Vietnamese content writer with over 15 years of experience in communications and marketing across both agency and client-side environments. She has worked with 200+ international and Vietnamese brands, including TikTok, Unilever, Mitsubishi and Panasonic, across diverse industries, and has held senior roles such as Brand & Marketing Manager at Kowil Fashion, Account Director at Mimosa Communications, and Associate Account Manager at Galaxy Communications.

Alongside her industry experience, she is a content training expert and PR–Marketing lecturer, delivering customized training programs for corporate and individual clients and teaching at FPT Polytechnic Hanoi and the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

She also brings experience in publishing as a translator of internationally published business and marketing books, including works associated with Harvard Business School, and as the author of The Impact of Global Crises on Vietnamese Consumers, published by Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany.
