Alumna’s business makes a profound impact on the lives of Vietnamese workers with disabilities while championing sustainability!
After graduating in 2009, Nguyen Tran Van Thuy, an alumna of the RMIT Design (Multimedia System) program, moved to London to study and set up her first business. During her course of running a business in London, she saw some Vietnamese fleeing their home country and losing their lives for failed promises, she yearned to do something for a better Vietnam. Hence, she decided to go back to Saigon and start Bobi Craft, which is now the market leader in exporting and distributing premium hand-crocheted children’s toys and accessories using eco-friendly materials. With a great care about sustainability, Ms. Thuy has not only implemented policies but also help protect the environment and support disadvantaged people.

Alumna’s initiative secures a better education for disadvantaged ethnic children in Dak Rong, Gia Lai.
After graduating from the RMIT Commerce program in 2009, Tran Nguyen Ngoc Nhan started her career in HR roles and was soon aware of the importance of education in helping young students change their future. She founded the I AM IN Foundation, intending to recreate a sustainable ecosystem for students and teachers in the mountainous area.
The current project: “Vuon rau xanh-cho em them chat” at Dak Rong Primary Boarding School aims to improve their daily meal by creating more organic vegetable gardens and pigsties inside the boarding school campus. Since, right now, With the limited funding that they receive, each meal of pupil costs only around 0.15 USD and is composed of some rice, a bit of vegetable, and fried eggs. It is by no means sufficient for children at that age who need much more nutrition to support their growth and learning activities.
