The recent RMIT Alumni Sundowners #9, a vibrant summer edition uniting alumni passionate about Finance, Banking, IT, and Technology, held on July 10, 2025, at the Innovation Hub, RMIT Campus, Hanoi, was a resounding success, bringing together alumni for an evening of engaging discussions, valuable insights, and vibrant networking. Under the theme “Is this time to put human touch in AI-driven world?”, the event provided a dynamic platform for the RMIT alumni community to reconnect, forge new connections, and collectively celebrate RMIT Vietnam’s 25th anniversary.

World Café Discussion

Each group has 10 minutes to discuss the main topic and 4 minutes to present the discussions.
A cornerstone of the evening’s success was the highly anticipated group discussions. Five dedicated group leads, Mr. Quang Dang, Lecturer from Vietnam National University; Mr. Ly Nguyen, Senior Officer, Talent Acquisition from Techcombank; Mr. Phat Le, Lecturer from RMIT; Mr. Luong Nguyen, Lead Analyst from Vietnam Investor Service; and Mr. Minh Nguyen, Senior Project Specialist from VietCycle, expertly facilitated conversations, playing a key role in guiding the discussions and encouraging participants to delve into the complexities of an AI-driven world and share their diverse insights and perspectives. These interactive sessions fostered a rich exchange of ideas, demonstrating the power of collaborative thinking and the depth of knowledge within the RMIT alumni network. The energy and enthusiasm in these groups were palpable, creating an environment where every voice was heard and valued.

Lessons of how not to be replaced by AI

Ms. Linh Le – Project Manager at FPT Software – presented her experience on how AI impacts on her organization.
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the real-world experience shared by our esteemed guest speaker, Ms. Linh Le, Project Manager from FPT Software. Her presentation offered a compelling look into how AI has impacted her organization and her pivotal role as a project manager. Attendees gained invaluable practical insights, understanding the challenges and opportunities presented by AI in a professional context. Her candid sharing resonated deeply with the audience, providing actionable takeaways and sparking further thought on adapting to the evolving technological landscape.
Free-flow networking
Beyond the structured discussions, the event truly excelled as a celebration of community. Alumni seized the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, reminisce about their time at RMIT, and expand their professional networks by meeting new individuals who share a common bond. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and shared celebration, marking 25 years of RMIT Vietnam’s impactful journey. The free-flow of canapes and drinks further enhanced the convivial ambiance, allowing for relaxed and meaningful interactions.
