In occasion of the latest Graduation ceremonies, an exclusive reception, co-hosted by RMIT University Vietnam and the Australian Consulate, brought together RMIT leaders, distinguished guests from Australia and Vietnam, and prominent alumni to commemorate a quarter-century of success, opening the next chapter of impact.
On Tuesday, 14 April 2026 – The evening unfolded in an intimate, inviting setting, creating space for engaging conversations on the role of RMIT alumni community in facilitating the university’s growth and strengthening Australia-Vietnam relations.

The reception opened with remarks from Ms. Sarah Hooper, Australian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, who emphasized the power of joining forces, highlighting the importance of ongoing collaboration between RMIT leadership and the alumni community to achieve even greater milestones.

Professor Alec Cameron, RMIT Vice-Chancellor and President, expressed his gratitude to the Consul-General for her unwavering support for Australia-Vietnam relations in general and RMIT University Vietnam in particular. He also shared his pride in the growth of RMIT alumni community, highly evident in the prominent outcomes and impact across diverse industries.

Mr. Hieu Doan, President of the Family Business Club (FBC), proudly represented the club and established its role as the pioneer, contributing to positioning RMIT University Vietnam as the first university in Vietnam to formally support family business successors, setting a unique benchmark for entrepreneurial education in the nation.
‘We often hear that “it takes a village” to raise a child. But in the world of business, it takes a specialized community to raise a successor’, he said, addressing the club’s mission to provide the leadership development that empowers next-gen leaders to elevate and evolve their businesses.
