The Livebrary 2026 – RMIT Alumni Impact Showcase: The Official Launch

Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City — Following a landmark year celebrating 25 years of RMIT Vietnam, The Livebrary – RMIT Alumni Impact Showcase has officially returned. This year’s edition turns its spotlight on family business successors, showcasing what it means to lead from the front or supporting from behind under a unifying theme: We Carry the Fire Forward.

On Friday 7 August and Tuesday 11 August – Across dual launching events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the gatherings brought together alumni, families, RMIT leaders, and guests to mark a new chapter in our journey to celebrate our alumni impact.

The Spark

From ongoing conversations with our alumni, The Livebrary 2026 taps into a powerful narrative: the strong aspirations of family business successors to share their journeys of pride, purpose, responsibility, resilience, and growth.

What began as a simple reflection on how we can continually honor alumni impact transformed into a broader vision: creating a space to showcase the flames of legacies and inspire future generations of business leaders and legacy builders.

Mrs. Manuela Spiga, Director of Careers, Alumni & Industry Relations, RMIT University Vietnam spoke on the Livebrary – Alumni Impact Showcase and this year’s impact.

Mr. Hoang Pham, Alumni Relations Manager, elaborated on the project’s theme and the story behind.

Embracing the Present: Voices of the Next Generation

The launch opened with an interactive touch – a custom postcard inviting our guests to be part of the journey to carry the fire forward, embracing their significant presence in our project and our future endeavors.

Our postcards designated to invite alumni and their families to be part of the journey.

The main program featured emotional reflections from emerging leaders who are representatives of the Family Business Club (FBC) across both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – Ms. Vu Hien Linh, President of FBC Hanoi Chapter and General Manager at Thu Hien Healthcare, and Mr. Le Quoc Anh, Vice President of Communications at FBC Ho Chi Minh City Chapter, Vice President and Creative Lead of Le Bros.

Mr. Quoc Anh captivated audiences with an authentic, deeply personal account of his journey. Growing up as the next generation of a prestigious media and communication legacy and surrounded by iconic brands like Vinamilk and Biti’s commercials while other children watched afternoon cartoons, he shared a unique perspective on his upbringing.

He remarked: “I can’t be tanned because I’m always under my father’s shadow”, simple yet beautifully said. Offering advice to fellow successors looking to define their identities within established legacies, he emphasized:

“Don’t work for family business, not until you have something new to offer, and a specialty you call your own.”

Mr. Quoc Anh, Vice President of Communications for FBC Ho Chi Minh City Chapter, Vice President and Creative Lead of Le Bros, unveiled his emotional journey since childhood.

Ms. Hien Linh referred to Amazon’s long-standing mantra: “It’s always Day 1”, showing her dedication while working for her family business.

Ms. Hien Linh, President of FBC Hanoi Chapter and General Manager at Thu Hien Healthcare, shared an inspiring quote.

Honoring the Past: The Wisdom

Shifting the lens from succession to foundation, the official launch also gave the stage to the pioneering generations who initiated the first sparks.

Mr. Do Van Hoa, CEO of Leather Shoes Co., Ltd, shared a message to the future generations: “Do your best to preserve what we have diligently built, the culture and values we pass down.” while Associate Professor, Dr. Do Thi Thu Hien, added: “Assets and shares can be inherited but your reputation and expertise and burning passion cannot, you have to earn them yourself.”

These words left an emotional touch, leaving many thoughts and feelings behind as our next generations look towards the future.

Mr. Do Van Hoa, CEO of Leather Shoes Co., Ltd, shared a heartfelt message to the next generations.

Looking Ahead: United by a Shared Vision

Both launching events concluded with a moment of unity as guests joined in to give many big rounds of applause, watching the burning on-screen flame shine brighter and bigger. As we stood next to each other, we were unified with a shared vision and mission, to continuously show up, earn trust, and showcase impact.

A moment of unity as we celebrated the launch of a campaign designed to highlight personal and collective journeys.

The energy carried over to the closing interactive activity, where guests left their signatures and personal messages on our backdrop, leaving behind personal messages and promises to keep the flame of legacy, impact, and innovation alive.

Guests leaving inspiring notes for the future, making lasting memories and inviting more stories of others to inspire the campaign.
